Stuart David Style Descriptions (D1 & D2, D4 & D5)

One of the amazing things about purchasing your fine furniture from Stuart David is that you don’t have to settle for what’s available. If you see an office or entertainment piece you fancy but it doesn’t quite look how you want it, fear not for that piece can be made in many different styles. Sometimes the difference between styles can be small but those small details are meant to give you a wider variety of choices without sacrificing what you may have liked about a similar style. To help give you all the information you need to make your decision, we’ll be going over the details and differences in the Heritage, Classic, Craftsman 4, and Craftsman 5 styles.

Stuart David Style Descriptions

·   The Heritage (D1) style features a crown with approximately 2” of overhanging side trim, raised panel doors, and an arch cut open base.

·    The Classic (D2) style also has a crown with approximately 2” of overhanging side trim, raised panel doors, and closed base molding with approximately 1” of overhanging side trim.

There is really only one difference between the D1 & D2 styles; the base. With that one difference comes a completely different look, while retaining the crown and raised panel doors.

Stuard David Style Descriptions

·  The Craftsman 4 (D4) style has a crown with approximately 2” of overhanging side trim, recessed panel doors, and an arch cut open base.

·  The Craftsman 5 (D5) style has a crown with approximately 2” of overhanging side trim, recessed panel doors, and closed base molding with approximately 1” of overhanging side trim.

As with the Heritage and the Classic, the only difference between the Craftsman 4 and 5 is the base. But if you were to compare the Classic (D2) and Craftsman 5 (D5) styles, there are more differences. Yes, the crown is the same, but the panel doors in the Classic are raised while the Craftsman 5 are recessed. But that’s not the only difference between the two. While they both have closed base molding, the molding itself is different. Small changes can really make a big difference, as you can see. Visit our other style blogs for more information.
