Rustic White Oak

Craftsman Style Furniture

The difference between our Rustic White Oak and Quartersawn White Oak is just the cut of the wood. Our Rustic White Oak comes from the same tree as Quartersawn White Oak. White Oak was the main wood used for mission style furniture that many loved from Stickley during the Arts & Crafts trend in the late 1800’s. It’s denser than Red Oak but takes stains and finishes just as well. With White Oak you may notice the grain is a little tighter than Red Oak and longer dark brown streaks run along with the grain (called rays).

Our Rustic Oak finishes include knots, glazing and distressing. Our finish is applied by hand and distressed using an extensive, multi-step process. Due to the natural grain variations in the wood and hand-applied finishing process, each piece is unique. The final finish and distressing WILL VARY in lightness and darkness, etc. The antiqued quality of our Rustic Woods is created through a proprietary aging process to enhance its welcoming appeal.
