We are committed to building beautiful, quality furniture while being environmentally responsible in our manufacturing practices.  Our environmental commitment is demonstrated in everything we do.


We use water-based adhesives and finishes that emit the lowest levels of VOC’s (Volatile organic compounds). This makes our furniture non-toxic to our customers, safe for your home, and better for the environment.


Through our state of the art dust collection system Stuart David Inc. has attained the federal ambient air quality standard for particulate matter released into the atmosphere.  We continue to implement PM-10 control measures to help maintain clean air in our area.  All waste wood and sawdust is recycled.


We use computer-aided machines to increase efficiency, optimize material usage, and reduce material waste.  The hardwood plywood used in our furniture meets the CARB phase 1 & 2 regulations for formaldehyde emissions.


Our furniture is heirloom quality. This quality and attention to detail makes our furniture easy to repair. This reduces the chances that our furniture will ever end up in a landfill, helping to reduce our environmental impact. Furthermore, customers who have purchased from us over 30 years ago still love and comment on the quality and durability of our furniture. Our suppliers are committed to sustainable forestry practices.  We receive our quality hardwoods, alder, cherry, maple oak and poplar from sustainable forests.


Stuart David operates in accordance with the CARB rules for formaldehyde emissions for furniture products Stuart David exceeds the state of California’s most stringent environmental regulations. We recognize our responsibility to restore earth’s supply of trees.  We understand our indebtedness to the abundant gifts of nature.
